Its second season concluded on May 2, 2013. On June 6, 2013, FX announced that Brand X would not be renewed for a third season. However, FX has reportedly picked up a scripted pilot starring Brand that will be loosely based on his life.

As he fights to transform the shop and himself, he works alongside a rough-around-the-edges crew that ultimately reveal themselves as his chosen family. Like The Snowman, the film does not have any spoken dialogue, although for the American version, Judi Dench narrates the film. The musical score was by Howard Blake and the end theme "Somewhere A Star Shines For Everyone" was sung by Charlotte Church.
