U.S. version of an Australian cult sitcom about a meek young man and a pot-smoking talking dog named Wilfred. Two seasons were broadcast on SBS One – the first in 2007 and the second in 2010. The series won three AFI Awards and was nominated for a Logie.Independent Film Channel acquired the international broadcast rights to the original two seasons of Wilfred in 2010. A U.S. version premiered on the cable channel FX on 23 June 2011.
Brand X with Russell Brand is an American late-night talk show, stand up comedy television series that premiered on FX on June 28, 2012, starring British comedian Russell Brand and created by Brand and Troy Miller. Its second season concluded on May 2, 2013. On June 6, 2013, FX announced that Brand X would not be renewed for a third season. However, FX has reportedly picked up a scripted pilot starring Brand that will be loosely based on his life.
Carmy, a young fine-dining chef, comes home to Chicago to run his family sandwich shop. As he fights to transform the shop and himself, he works alongside a rough-around-the-edges crew that ultimately reveal themselves as his chosen family. Like The Snowman, the film does not have any spoken dialogue, although for the American version, Judi Dench narrates the film. The musical score was by Howard Blake and the end theme "Somewhere A Star Shines For Everyone" was sung by Charlotte Church.
