This delightful crowd-pleaser for all ages stars the enchanting Amy Adams as a positively perky princess who is dispatched from her fairy-tale realm by an evil queen (Susan Sarandon) and resurfaces in modern-day Manhattan. She meets a divorced lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) who takes her in while she awaits the arrival of her Prince Charming (James Marsden). Narrated by Julie Andrews. Jessica Alba Fails to Arouse Moviegoers

Disney's Enchanted repeated this weekend as box-office champ, adding $17 million to its coffers. This Christmas placed second with $8.4 mil. Rounding out the top five were Beowulf (with $7.9 million), Jessica Alba and Anakin Skywalker's Awake (opening with $6 mil) and Hitman ($5.8 mil). In limited release, both The Savages ($38,280 per screen, versus Awake's $3,002) and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly ($25,100 per screen) opened strongly.
