VIDEO: James Franco Talks Time-Traveling in 11.22.63

James Franco is leading a double life in 11.22.63, Hulu's adaptation of Stephen King's best-selling novel about a man who's sent back in time to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. (The eight-part event series premieres, fittingly, on Monday, which is President's Day.)

Franco's character, Jake Epping, is introduced to a time portal by the owner of a local diner (Chris Cooper), who then sends Jake on his mission. The rub? Jake can't just drop in on Nov. 22, 1963, and trip Lee Harvey Oswald on his way to the Texas School Book Depository. He's got to make sure all the pieces are in place beforehand ... and that Oswald was, in fact, the lone assassin. So, Jake is taken back to 1960, where he has to establish a life in order to fit in.

"[Jake has] years to live there," Franco tells TVGuide.com. "Not only does he have to figure out who did what, to make sure that he's changing things in the right way, he's got this whole sort of force working against him."
