This Thanksgiving, we're thankful for Arcane Season 2
Of the many things we're thankful for this November, Netflix's increasingly standard model of releasing TV seasons in two — or, God forbid, three — parts is not one of them. But at least the month comes with the arrival of new episodes of two of the platform's biggest series. The swashbuckling adventure Outer Banks returns for Part 2 of its fourth season, while the martial arts saga Cobra Kai approaches its end with Season 6 Part 2 (a third and final part will release in 2025).
Also coming to Netflix in November is Arcane Season 2 — now that's something to add to our gratitude list. After a near three-year-long wait, the animated series based on Riot Games' League of Legends is finally coming back. The show following rival sisters Vi and Jinx will be released across three weeks. Among Netflix's new shows this month, we're most excited for Mike Schur's comedy A Man on the Inside, which reunites him with his The Good Place star Ted Danson.
On the film side, there are two major awards contenders releasing on Netflix this month. If your Thanksgiving dinners somehow include conversations about the Oscars race, add Emilia Pérez and The Piano Lesson to your to-watch list ASAP.
Here are our most anticipated Netflix shows and movies for the month, plus the full list of everything coming to and leaving Netflix in November.

Outer Banks Season 4 Part 1 ended with a shocking reveal: The man we thought was JJ's (Rudy Pankow) father is actually not his father. Instead, our hot-headed Pogue is directly related to a mysterious figure at the center of this season's deadly treasure hunt. Part 2 will continue to follow John B (Chase Stokes) and his friends as they search for the riches that Blackbeard left behind. Will the Pogues keep making decisions that make us scratch our heads? Absolutely. Is that going to stop us from joining their sun-kissed adventure? Absolutely not. [Trailer]
Three years after Arcane's groundbreaking first season, the animated series set in Riot's League of Legends universe is finally returning. In Season 1, sisters Vi (Hailee Steinfeld) and Jinx (Ella Purnell) went from best friends to enemies real quick. Now they are on opposite sides of a war between wealthy utopia Piltover and its impoverished undercity, Zaun. Based on the trailer, Season 2 promises more action-packed sequences, evocative voice acting, and, just like in Season 1, a rousing soundtrack with anthemic bangers. [Trailer]
Emilia Pérez made waves when it premiered at the 77th Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. Not only did the French film from Jacques Audiard win the Jury Prize, but its ensemble — Karla Sofía Gascón, Selena Gomez, Adriana Paz, and Zoe Saldaña —won the festival's Best Actress award. The musical follows these four women's characters as they journey across Mexico to find themselves. [Trailer]
Give it up for Cobra Kai Season 6 for ending Part 1 on one of the biggest cliffhangers of the year: the beginning of the Sekai Taikai, otherwise known as the most prestigious international karate tournament. The competition kicks off in Part 2, and the odds are stacked against Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso's (Ralph Macchio) Miyagi-Do. Their rival, Cobra Kai, boasts a roster of serious threats — including Tory (Peyton List), who has switched to the dark side — and is just one of many dojos from around the world outmatching Miyagi-Do. But if we know anything about this show after five seasons, it's that the underdogs will not give up. [Trailer]
Netflix will find itself in a very good place this month with a The Good Place reunion: Creator Mike Schur and star Ted Danson are teaming up for A Man on the Inside, a comedic take on the Oscar-nominated documentary The Mole Agent, which follows an older man (Danson) who is hired by a private detective to be a mole in a nursing home. It's super sweet and continues the very welcome TV trend of "old people are cool" programming. Mary Elizabeth Ellis and Stephanie Beatriz also star. -Tim Surette [Trailer]
Adapted from August Wilson's 1987 play of the same name, The Piano Lesson is about one family's unraveling because of an heirloom piano. Willie Charles (John David Washington) is on a mission to sell the prized possession, but his sister Berniece (Danielle Deadwyler) will not budge — for her, the piano cannot leave the Charles family. The film, directed by Malcolm Washington, also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Potts, Ray Fisher, Corey Hawkins, Erykah Badu, and Skylar Aleece Smith. [Trailer]
One of the most talented and dangerous comics out there is Anthony Jeselnik, whose dark humor and stage presence — a meticulous combination of frat bro, serial killer, and colossal a-hole — brings out the worst in you and transforms it into a laugh. His last Netflix special, 2019's Fire at the Maternity Ward, was an instant classic that included an extended bit on the joy of dropping babies. Each of his evil jokes is distilled down to its bare minimum, and they're all delivered like a slap in the face. It's OK to laugh. -Tim Surette [Jeselnik explaining the art of shock comedy]
